The Kerry Regional Broadband MANs tender is part of the
second phase of the Regional Broadband Strategy call from the DCMNR and is grant
aided by the Government under the National Development Plan 2000-2006, and
co-funded by the EU under the European Regional Development Fund. Six Kerry
Towns are included in Phase 2 of the Regional Broadband Programme: Tralee,
Killarney, Listowel, Castleisland, Dingle and Kenmare.
The Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs) will provide world
class broadband with a view to encouraging new business to the region as well as
stimulating growth and competition in the communications market.
